Olivia, Meet Your Family!

Our first meeting with Olivia is indescribable. Our social worker said it went pretty well. Olivia cried a bit here and there when separated from her foster mom. She let me hold her about half of the time. But when Todd got close she swiped at him and shooed him away - and let out the loudest wails! The kids were wonderful with them. Once again Matty surprised us! He said 'Hi baby sister' when he saw her and was second to get her a toy when she started to cry - he even patted her back!! Lucy, of course, was over the moon (the first to supply toys and pats)! She was ever attentive!! Jacob hung back a little, I think her crying threw him off a bit. We spent an hour with Olivia, her foster mom, and our social worker. We asked a few questions to the foster mom and our SW acted as translator. It was an emotional time for many of us!

Olivia clearly loves her foster mother, but it was hopeful that she let me hold her and even quieted when I held her. She even gave me 1 little smile!! She is the cutest little baby ever! Thursday we meet with Dr. Kim and have lunch with the agency staff! And then we will see Olivia again on Friday before the final hand-off/farewell.

After the visit, we walked around a bit and did a tiny bit of shopping before having lunch at ... Burger King! Menu was slightly different - they have Garlic Burger as an option. Then headed back for Matty's naptime before we head out for some sight-seeing (aka shopping). They also have a children's playroom at our hotel (http://www.somerset.com/) - like a miniature Eagle's nest or bigger McDonaldland.
